Mt Wilson and Wilson Mesa
Time of day: Morning about 2.5 hours after sunrise
September 27, 2012
We also had a chance to drive the famous Last Dollar Road. See http://www.hanselmannphotography.com/AllArticles/LastDollarRoad1.html.
Casse was not particularly pleased with the drive down this road. It had rained during the prior two days so there were a few water holes (puddles) to traverse. Perhaps it would have helped if we were in a 4 wheel drive vehicle but I doubt it: She was prepared to give her “Last Dollar” to be off this bumpy, puddled, pot hole filled, dirt road.
Ah but the views were magnificent, especially once we passed the summit as seen here.
This is the view south from just below the ridgecrest. Mt. Wilson and Wilson Mesa are in the distance at right.
A polarizer was used in this shot.
