Middle Fork Bishop Creek
Time of day: 1 hour before Sunset
September 25, 2009
I managed to get away to the Owens Valley Sierra high country on very short notice the last weekend of September 2009. I set out for the area southeast of Bishop, California, off highway 168, for a short photo shoot. Casse couldn’t join me on such short notice.
The aspen colors above the 9,000 foot elevation were splendid. The sky was cloudless so most of my shots were rather close-in and this was not a bad thing.
I hit Lake Sabrina and the middle-fork of Bishop Creek on Friday evening. This scene, situated just north of the entrance to Lake Sabrina, caught my eye with its striking colors. I must have taken 200 exposures here.
Casse and I went round and round trying to decide which shot was best shot of this scene. We finally settled on this one after much debate. I love the water as it works its way pass the snag and the wonderful fall colors above.
