Mixed Foliage - Utah
Time of day: 90 minutes before Sunset
October 1, 2011
This scene is a wonderful mixture of foliage that I just couldn't resist stopping to photograph.
Occasionally, a scene will simply "leap-out-at-me." This is one such view.
Tough politics getting this shot since Casse couldn't get there and was generally ready to return to the hotel, clean-up, and head out for a wonderful dinner after being cooped-up in the car scouting photo ops for most of the day. Further, we were in this canyon and there was no direct light as the sun had fallen behind the canyon wall giving the light in the canyon a twilight or dusk character. As it turns out Casse has come around, she likes the colors and general feeling the image conveys.
I love this shot yet I really couldn't tell you what it's about; if you must have a central point of focus then focus on the variety of colors and shapes. They are all over the board here, quite varied on a sloping hillside.
Wow! I find this image simply elegant.
