Pine Ridge Winery – Napa
Time of day: Morning 2 hours after sunrise
Date: April 25, 2009
We spied this scene as we headed back to the have dinner on the previous evening and thought it would do quite nicely with morning light illuminating the eastward facing hillside. Of interest is the cave dug into the hillside which is used for aging wine in its cool environment.
We were initially disappointed with the cloudless sky but soon realized that clouds would somehow diminish this pleasant spring morning vista.
A 2 stop hard edged grad was used in this shot.
Processed with an impressionist plug-in filter. In my view, sometimes the impression of a scene has more impact than the details of that scene. For this reason, and $2,700, I do not use a Canon 5D Mk2. At this stage of my photography life (May 2009), I have no need for more detail in my photos.
